Botox Before an Event in Boston: When Should You Book?

AI-generated consultation illustration; not an IV League patient, staff member, or treatment result.

If you are thinking about Botox before a Boston wedding, a holiday party, or a day of professional photos, start with a conversation—not a last-minute appointment. Results are not instant, and even a straightforward treatment can cause temporary bruising or swelling.

At IV League Hydration, Botox is available at both South Boston clinics: 47 L Street and 36 A Street. Here is how to approach the timing, budget, and consultation without putting pressure on your event date.

Leave room for results—and for the unexpected

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, most people notice results within 3 to 7 days after botulinum toxin treatment. That does not mean a treatment a few days before your event is a safe bet: your response can vary, and bruising, swelling, or an unwanted effect may last beyond the first visible change.

Contact your injector several weeks ahead to discuss a suitable schedule, especially if this is your first treatment. Tell them the exact event date and ask when they would want to assess your response. There is no single booking interval that guarantees you will be photo-ready.

If your event is this weekend, do not assume that squeezing in an appointment will improve the outcome. Waiting until after the event may be the better choice.

What are you hoping to change?

Botox Cosmetic temporarily reduces muscle activity in specific treatment areas. It is not a filler and does not add volume. A consultation should distinguish lines that appear with movement from concerns that may need a different approach—or no treatment at all.

Bring a clear goal, such as softening frown lines while keeping expression. Ask your clinician what is realistic for your face, which areas are appropriate, and what the trade-offs are. No injector can promise a particular result.

  • Which product will be used, and why?
  • Is the proposed treatment an FDA-approved use or an off-label use?
  • How many units are being proposed, and what is the full cost?
  • What follow-up is recommended, and does it carry an additional charge?
  • Who should I contact if something does not feel right afterward?

Botox pricing at IV League Hydration

Our current Botox prices are the same at both South Boston clinics:

  • Standard Botox: $13 per unit.
  • First-time clients: $11 per unit.
  • Members: 15% off the standard $13-per-unit rate—$11.05 per unit.
  • Lip flip: $65.

Your total depends on the agreed treatment and number of units, not simply the name of an area. For a price illustration only, 20 units would be $260 at the standard rate, $220 at the first-time rate, or $221 at the member rate. This is arithmetic, not a recommendation that you need 20 units; the first-time and member examples are separate rates, not combined discounts.

Online Botox booking requires a $50 deposit. Confirm the full treatment estimate and applicable rate before agreeing to treatment. Visit our Botox page for pricing and booking.

A lip flip is a separate decision

A lip flip is not lip filler. It uses botulinum toxin around the upper lip and is an off-label use of Botox Cosmetic. Discuss how it could affect lip movement and everyday activities such as drinking before deciding whether it fits your goals. Do not try a new treatment immediately before an important event just because it costs less than another option.

What to tell your clinician before treatment

Share your medical history, all medicines and supplements, any prior botulinum toxin treatment, and any past reactions. Specifically mention pregnancy, plans to become pregnant, breastfeeding, muscle or nerve conditions, and any problems with swallowing or breathing. Do not stop prescribed medication on your own to reduce bruising.

Botox Cosmetic should not be used if you have an infection at the proposed injection site or a known allergy to its ingredients or another botulinum toxin product. The clinician must assess whether treatment is appropriate for you; a booking is not a guarantee of eligibility.

After the appointment: follow your own care plan

Ask for written aftercare instructions, including advice about exercise, touching the treated area, and when to contact the clinic. Follow the treating clinician’s guidance rather than a social-media checklist. Temporary soreness, redness, swelling, bruising, or headache can occur; drooping eyelids or other unwanted muscle effects are also possible.

Seek immediate medical help if you develop trouble breathing, swallowing, or speaking after treatment. The product carries a boxed warning about toxin effects spreading beyond the injection area; symptoms can appear hours to weeks after an injection.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get Botox the day before a wedding?

It is not a reliable way to be ready for the next day. Results usually take several days to appear, and bruising or swelling may interfere with your plans. Discuss your event date with a clinician well in advance; postponing treatment may be the better option.

How long does cosmetic Botox last?

The American Academy of Dermatology describes an effect lasting about 3 to 4 months, sometimes longer. Individual results vary. Your clinician can discuss follow-up and retreatment based on your response rather than promising a fixed duration.

How much is first-time Botox at IV League in Boston?

First-time clients pay $11 per unit. Standard pricing is $13 per unit, and members receive 15% off the standard rate. The lip flip is $65. The clinician will confirm the appropriate treatment and full estimate before you agree.

Where can I book Botox in South Boston?
